Photoshop painting from last year, posted March 13th 2010, TBC

A demo,

I did this drawing last Dec. and thought it might make a nice painting.I start by just painting over the drawing on a new layer.

I would make a copy of the line drawing and place it on top and paint on a new layer underneath.
I just grabbed a section of the painting and did a color shift to give it the sun light effect.

Hop

Hop just opened last night, so I can post this vis-dev photoshop painting I did for Universal Studios.
They called me last July and sent a render of the bunny character witch I had to redraw the body but ended up keeping the head with a slight paint-over. The shirt pattern was done in photoshop and the undulation was done using liquify. The painting was done just using photoshop with no photo texture dragged in. At the time I had no idea what it was to be used for until I saw the "Hop" trailer!

Last post for 2010, I found some color photocopies from Lilo & Stitch Vis-Dev I did, now almost 10 years ago,

This is the design by Paul Felix and 2 of my postcard size color keys below.

The my large painting.
At this point Paul Felix took a look and did his take on the location producing this beautiful sun-trenched watercolor, attached is another layout drawing by Paul.

With this key I'm trying to work out all issues. The problem is that you don't want to totally
burn out everything that's outside the window but show defined shapes and colors.

This is the final painting that addressed all the notes, but when going into production it was decided that we need color on the walls because white is a hard color to hold and keep looking white in color timing.

Background design for Dan's Animation Class,

This is the color BG design of the mad scientist laboratory. I kept it in the grays so the students have more freedom with the character colors.
